COM 241 - Exploratory Voice: Identity and Protest in Songs of Black America

This course combines music, improvisational voice techniques, and historical review to encourage vocalists and non-vocalists alike to raise their voices and express their unique stories through song and spoken word. The course examines issues of identity politics, poverty, social injustice, and economic inequality in Black America as expressed through song. Open to all University of Hartford students.
