NEU 311 - Brain and Behavior

This course discusses how the human brain interacts and responds to the world. What happens when we sleep? Where do sensory impulses come from and how does the brain respond to them? This course covers an introduction to the biological and neural bases of behavior. Topics include neuroanatomy, neural communication, current research methodologies, and the physiological, biochemical and neuroscientific mechanisms underlying sensory and motor mechanisms, motivation, sleep, cognition, emotion, and psychopathology.
Prerequisite(s): NEU 101 .
