GS 155D - Introduction to Women’s Literature

Course Cross-listed with ENG 155D
3 credit(s) High Impact Practice: Diversity and Global Learning
In this class we will explore texts by female, trans, and non-binary writers, in a variety of genres, time periods, geographic locations, and literary traditions. The work is inter-disciplinary: we will be looking through the lenses of women’s studies, queer studies, history, sociology and politics. The focus of the class will be on resistance–texts which oppose, defy and rage against various forms of injustice in their worlds, including sexism, racism classism, xenophobia, homophobia, imperialism, colonialism, and transphobia.
