HS 361 - Principles of Phlebotomy


3 credit(s)
This course provides students with an introduction to phlebotomy and infection control, phlebotomy equipment and supplies, and phlebotomy procedures. It also contains a review of human anatomy and physiology and an overview of legal issues in healthcare. A hands-on application of clinical and professional procedures will be performed and is required for completion of the phlebotomy training. Upon completion of the training, students will be eligible to sit for the phlebotomy certification exam through the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
Prerequisite(s): BIO 122  or permission from the Health Science Program Director.
