TH 510 - Modal Counterpoint


3 credit(s)
An introductory course in modal counterpoint. Writing and analysis of music in two, three, and four voices using the techniques of melodic development, imitation, and invertible counterpoint. Emphasis on the Mass and motet of the 16th century. Usually offered alternate years. Three hours weekly.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate Music Theory Review Requirement.
