HTD 115 - Jazz I

This course is a continuation of HTD 114 . It expands the fundamentals of jazz dance movement while incorporating ballet and contemporary dance techniques and social dance forms. Students will explore various musical theater dance styles. They will participate in seated and standing technical warm-up exercises, stretching, full-body conditioning, center work, and movement combinations to develop coordination, body placement, and memorization skills. A studio format is used.
Prerequisite(s): HTD 114  or advanced placement.
