RAD 210W - Patient Care I

Introduces the student to the basic physical and emotional needs of the patient before, during, and after radiographic procedures. The role of the medical imaging professional is discussed including the interpersonal skills required for successful interactions with patients, peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Other topics include medical terminology, patient confidentiality, infection control, patient assessment, patient education, ethics and medical legal issues.
Prerequisite(s): Radiologic technology major; a minimum grade of C+ is required in each of the following: BIO 122; CH 110 or CH 114; M 110 or M 140 or M 144; PHY 101 or PHY 102 or PHY 103 or PHY 120; RAD 102.
