RAD 200 - Radiographic Principles I

An introduction to the physical principles and technical factors that govern the production of a radiographic image. The basic principles of patient and personnel radiation protection are introduced. Additional topics include the radiographic imaging chain, x-ray tube components and function, beam restriction, and digital image acquisition, processing, display and archival. A laboratory component is included for the performance of experiments in radiographic imaging techniques within our energized x-ray facility.
Prerequisite(s): Radiologic technology major; a minimum grade of C+ is required in each of the following: CH 110  or CH 114 M 110  or M 140  or M 144 RAD 102 BIO 122 PHY 101  or PHY 102  or PHY 103  or PHY 120 .
