APC 260 - Chamber Music Performance: 1800-Present

This course surveys the evolution of the Baroque and Classical performance notations, articulations, and dynamics through the Romanticism of the Austro-Hungarian and French composers, to the New Viennese School, into serialism, atonality and aleatoric music. Emphasis will be placed on score interpretation and understanding, and how knowledge of the genres translates into differing rehearsal techniques.
Prerequisite(s): APC 160 .
