DFA 373 - Modern Solos

This course is a progression in the study of performance techniques. It also serves as preparation for the senior capstone solo presentation. Through work on diverse repertory excerpts, dancers will explore developing individual interpretation and bringing a piece to performance level. Students will delve into such aspects as spatial awareness, projection, dynamics and phrasing, musicality, inner motivation and intention, use of imagery, and the building of imaginative resources.
Prerequisite(s): Open to Dance Performance and Ballet Pedagogy majors; open to non-majors by audition or permission of instructor.
