CMM 205W - Healthcare Communication

This course explores relevant communication theories to provide students with a foundation for developing internal and external communications in health and social care organizations. Students will learn effective strategies for communicating with diverse audiences such as patients, healthcare providers, policy makers, communities, and local and international non-governmental organizations. In addition to communication models, course content will emphasize media relations, social and online communications, formal and informal communication (dyadic and group/team; face-to-face and mediated), and health/emergency risk communications, among others.
