Breadth and Integration: Distribution Requirements


  • UISA or equivalent 3 credit(s)
  • UISC or equivalent 3 credit(s)
Humanities (9 credits):

  • Any three courses from English, literature in a foreign language, history, art history, cinema, drama, music theory, philosophy, UISC or UISA
Social Sciences:

  • POL 110  3 credit(s)
  • Any two courses from economics, politics and government, psychology, sociology; one course may be UISS 6 credit(s)
Natural Sciences (4 credits):

  • A total of 4 credits in laboratory science courses from biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, or UIST

Individualized Concentration (46-48)


  • 15 credits at the 100 level or higher in concentration
  • 18 credits at the 200 level or higher in concentration
  • 13-15 credits at the 300 level or higher in concentration, including US 380  (1-3) or US 480  (1-3)
  • Note: concentration courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
