All undergraduate candidates for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration follow the standard program listed below. The student must elect one of the professional majors shown on the following pages.

Students with advanced placement credit in mathematics may elect a semester in M 112  or M 144  in the first year.

Students may fulfill the requirement of global awareness through a variety of options, including a foreign language, study abroad for a semester, and international business courses. Students are not permitted to double-count courses as part of their concentration, as approved UIS courses, or as other elective courses in Arts and Sciences.

*All Barney students are required to participate in an internship experience within their concentration prior to graduation and are encouraged to do this in their junior year. The internship may be completed during the fall, spring, or summer semester. Students are not allowed to complete an internship retroactively. All internships must be approved and all required paperwork must be completed prior to beginning an internship. See the departmental internship coordinator for details.

As part of the commitment to continuous improvement, all Barney students are required to participate in assessment activities throughout their course work in the Barney School. These consist of assessment of computer skills, writing skills, teamwork skills.

An evaluation of the student is completed by the employer after the internship experience.
