The Nursing Education focus in the M.S.N. program prepares nurses for educator roles in academic environments and staff development roles in healthcare practice settings. Nurses are prepared to synthesize nursing and education theory to facilitate learning in individual and groups in diverse settings.
NUR ST 690 - Advanced Health Assessment, Pathophysiology & Pharmacology 3 credit(s) (Required for Educator Role)
Take one 3-credit MSN-level nursing elective (3rd elective for Educator Role)
If not a Nursing Education focus area student or transferring in up to six credits (3 credits per course) of graduate-level nursing electives, the student must take three (3-credits each) MSN-level nursing electives.
*Education-focused students can transfer in 3 credits of a 500-level or higher nursing course from another accredited institution. Completion of transfer paperwork is required.
**Public Health and Management-focused students can transfer in up to 6 credits of 500-level or higher nursing course(s) from another accredited institution. Completion of transfer paperwork is required.
