Students who wish to earn both the Master of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP) from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the Barney School of Business may apply to be admitted to the Dual MSOP/MBA degree program. Upon completion of all degree requirements, students will be awarded both the MSOP and MBA degrees. The Dual MSOP/MBA degree provides an opportunity to earn both degrees in an efficient manner. Between the two programs, the dual degree consists of 20 courses or 60 credits.

Admission: Students applying for the Dual program must meet the admission criteria for both the Barney MBA and the M.S. in Organizational Psychology. Upon admission, the student will be assigned an academic advisor from each of the programs.

Notes:

  1. Both degrees should be completed before awarding either degree.  However, if a student wants to receive one degree before the other, or returns after graduating to complete the other as part of the dual, then courses may not be double counted across the program as part of the 20 unique courses needed for a dual.  Students should consult with their academic advisor in the added program on how to proceed with their dual degree course plan.
  2. Dual students may benefit from taking  PSY 510 - Experimental Design  prior to taking QNT 601 , though it is not a required pre-requisite.
  3. Graduate transfer credits accepted by MSOP cannot be used to complete the MBA degree, and MBA students cannot use outside transfer graduate courses to complete the MBA portion of the dual degree.
  4. Students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in both the MBA and MSOP programs to remain in good academic standing. To graduate with the MSOP, students must also have no more than two grades below B- in their M.S. coursework.
  5. Students will file two separate degree applications when they have completed their plan of study, one for each Master’s degree.
