|
All students take 6 courses (19 credits) in film studies and film/video production. These courses are divided into 3 groups: introductory, grounding, and experiential learning. Students select a track of study, either Cinema Studies or Film/Video Production. The Cinema Studies and Film/Video Production tracks each require 6 additional courses (18-19 credits). Cinema Studies requires 4 “study in depth” courses and two additional electives. The Film/Video Production track requires: CIN 322 - Cinematography , four “study in depth” courses, and one additional elective. All students who successfully complete these requirements are eligible for a B.A. in Cinema.

In addition to major requirements, students must meet the General Education Requirements that correlate to their degree.
Major GPA and Grade Requirements
Students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 in courses required to complete the major. All courses required for the major must be taken for a letter grade; they may not be taken Pass/No Pass.

Note:
CIN 420W and CIN 430W can be repeated for credit. CIN 311 , CIN 312P , CIN 313 , CIN 314W , and CIN 330 can be repeated for credit as long as the content is not repeated. For example, a student can take two different genres (documentary, horror, or comedy) or two different national cinemas (French, Japanese or African) or two different topics in filmmaking (experimental, making conscious media, or stop motion).
