¹Students whose principal instrument is keyboard, and those who are waived because of proficiency, must replace these credits with equivalent credits approved by assigned advisor.

⁵Music history majors are required to register for four semesters of HLM 464 (Fall) and/or HLM 465 (Spring), Music History Forum, for 0.25 credits each (a total of one credit added to their program requirements). This obligation can be met in any semester in which the student has sufficient credit room; regardless of semester, students will never be faced with an overload.

⁶This course should consist of an HLM, TH, or AFR course.

⁷Students in semesters 7 and 8 will take two 30-min lessons on two different instruments, and may choose to register for a 0-cr studio lab for either, both, or neither instrument.

Music history majors are required to earn a minimum grade of B- in all major (HLM) courses.
