Students in the Art History program are required to fulfill the general education requirements described below.

University Interdisciplinary Studies (UIS) (13 credits)

Students must take a course in each of the following areas:

Cultural and Historical Interpretation (UISC)
Social Context and Change (UISS)
Natural, Scientific, and Technology (UIST)

Mathematics (3 credits)

Students must demonstrate basic college-level mathematics skills by successfully completing any mathematics course (except M 118 and M 119 ) taught by the A&S mathematics department.

Humanities and Arts (12 credits)

HIS 100D - Diversity and Power in Global History 3 credit(s) OR
HIS 101 - Civilization to 1650: Unfolding of Traditional Civilization 3 credit(s)
three courses from the following list: music, cinema, drama, literature, foreign language, history, philosophy.

Social Science (3 credits)

one course from the following list: economics, politics, psychology, sociology.

Laboratory Science (4 credits)

One 4-credit laboratory course from the following list: biology, chemistry, physics.
