The Barney School of Business offers Certificates in AccountingBusiness AnalyticsEntrepreneurial Studies, Finance, Healthcare Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, Project ManagementRisk Management and Insurance, Supply Chain Management, and Taxation.

Certificates show mastery in a topical area and add a level of skill to your resume.

Accounting

Students can apply to attend the Barney School of Business to earn a specialized certificate in Accounting by completing four courses (12 credit hours).

(Note: Students are required to complete the following prerequisite course(s) prior to entering the program: Either AC 210 - Financial Accounting AND AC 211 Managerial Accounting; OR AC 603 - Accounting for Decision Makers .)

Business Analytics

Today’s technology produces huge volumes of data. Businesses everywhere are focusing on how to properly organize, evaluate and use data to solve problems and identify opportunities that give their organization a competitive advantage.  Building analytic models, creating scenarios, and predicting future states are but some of the exciting intellectual activities you are exposed to in business analytics.

Students can apply to attend the Barney School of Business to earn a specialized certificate in Business Analytics by completing four courses (12 credit hours) from the following list of courses:

Entrepreneurial Studies

Students can apply to attend the Barney School of Business to earn a specialized certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies by completing the following four courses (12 credit hours):

Finance

Financial skills are in demand in all industries. This certificate is essential for those who desire to acquire knowledge about how firms make financial decisions and how these decisions affect individual organizations and society as a whole. In addition to studying relevant trends and current issues, you are exposed to foundational level knowledge in the world of finance.

Students can apply to attend the Barney School of Business to earn a specialized certificate in Finance by completing four courses (12 credit hours) from the following list of courses:

Healthcare Management

This certificate addresses evolving issues in the health system by examining the structure of the US healthcare system, including health care professionals, the delivery and financing of healthcare, and related health care products. Students will also explore comparative health systems and innovations in healthcare.

Students can apply to attend the Barney School of Business to earn a specialized certificate in Healthcare Management by completing four courses (12 credit hours). Students will complete:

International Business

In today’s fast-paced environment it is common to find working professionals traveling abroad representing their institutions in global affairs.  This certificate allows for those who want to broaden their horizon to delve deeper in functional areas, visit foreign countries or create a unique experience by mastering an international topic as an independent study.

In today’s fast paced and ever-evolving marketplace, the knowledge and skills gained from a certificate in Marketing can be used to help firms create value for customers. Both national and international aspects of developing, distributing, pricing and promoting brands, products and services are covered in the marketing concentration.  Analytic rigor is integrated with creative thinking to leverage effective use of website, social media, and other emerging marketing technologies.

Project Management

A Project Management certificate is a viable and sought-after program for both business and engineering graduate students. The certificate is multidisciplinary, creating a cross-functional learning environment similar to the business settings where projects are managed. Course content will be aligned with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) PMP (Project Management Professional) and CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certifications.

Taxation

Students can apply to attend the Barney School of Business to earn a specialized certificate in Taxation by completing four courses (12 credit hours).

(Note: The taxation certificate requires that the student have a basic undergraduate taxation course, or an equivalent graduate-level course.)
