AUD 382 - Principles of Magnetic Recording for Engineering Technology


3 credit(s)
This course stresses the use, maintenance, and design of magnetic recording devices and media. Tape and diskette-based storage is studied, as well as the operation and repair of tape recorders and disk drives. Magnetic field theory, tape and disk transport mechanisms, tape head design, and servo control are investigated.
Prerequisite(s): AUD 362 , MTH 241 , ECT 241 , and ECT 122 ; or permission of instructor.
