Hillyer College - Program Learning Outcomes


General Sciences, Associate of Science

Student will be able to:

  1. Written and Oral Communication: Communicate effectively in speech and writing.
  2. Quantitative Literacy: Basic mathematical literacy and ability to apply quantitative analysis logically and thoughtfully.
  3. Research Literacy: Organize, interpret, and evaluate evidence and ideas within and across disciplines to draw reasoned inferences and defensible conclusions.
  4. Scientific Foundation: Develop scientific thinking and analysis and lab techniques, leading to program advancement in the science.
  5. Global and Diversity Perspectives: Reflect on and understand the effect of broader historical, cultural, and global perspectives.
  6. Critical Thinking: At end of semester, students will successfully demonstrate critical thinking skills.

 

Liberal Studies, Associate of Arts

Student will be able to:

  5. Global and Diversity Understanding: Reflect on and understand the effect of broader historical, cultural, and global perspectives.
  6. Basic Scientific Literacy: Reflect on and understand general scientific ideas and outcomes.
