ADT 156 - Architecture Since the Renaissance

This course examines the roots of the contemporary Western architectural tradition, starting with the early 17th century, and introduces students to non-Western architecture. An understanding of Baroque, Neo-Classical, Industrial, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Modern, Post-Modern, Neo-Modern, and the foundations of non-Western architecture as well as emerging styles is developed through lectures, slides, videos, and sketching. Four lecture hours.
Prerequisite(s): ADT 155  or permission of instructor or chair.
