FIN 324 - Money and Banking

This course introduces students to the economics of money, banking and financial markets. The course aims to develop a framework to help students understand the structure of financial markets, how interest rates are determined, role and structure of various financial institutions, the Federal Reserve System, money supply and monetary policy. International banking, conduct of monetary policy in other countries, and the growing integration of financial markets are covered throughout the course. Students are required to follow the financial news with the goal of gaining enough fluency to explain their impact.
Prerequisite(s): EC 110  and EC 211 .
