The second semester capstone course is a continuation of the first capstone course, DS 385W, and uses knowledge and skills from previous courses to solve real-world data science problems. Students will engage in a team-based project that employs relevant techniques in data science. This course may continue work on the project from the first semester or work on an entirely new project. Students may work on a project with partners from local companies or with faculty from different colleges within the University. Throughout the semester, students will be asked to provide updates on their progress through reports and presentations, culminating in a final report and presentation. This Capstone course will prepare students for a diverse workforce by providing students with experiences working in teams, planning and scheduling projects, writing professional reports, making professional presentations, and interpreting results for a general audience.
Prerequisite(s): DS 385W.
