Students in this class will read works examining the great wave of migration from eastern Europe in the twentieth-century, the Americanization of Jewish literature following World War II, and American Jewish responses to the Holocaust and Israel, among other themes. The course will conclude with a focus on current trends in American Jewish fiction.
