RAD 478W - CT Procedures II


3 credit(s) Writing Intensive and High Impact Practice: Capstone
This course will introduce students to CT imaging procedures of the neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Anatomy and physiology with considerations for imaging planes, pathological considerations, protocol and patient considerations (i.e. pediatric, geriatric, bariatric, trauma) will be discussed. Patient exam setup including patient data input, position, patient orientation, landmarking and physiologic gating and triggering, as well as contrast media and its effect on images will be reviewed. Finally, the student will be exposed to additional procedures such as vascular, biopsies, drainages and aspirations for the pertinent to the neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis.
Prerequisite(s): RAD 477 , ARRT certification in radiography, current CPR certification, and appropriate state licensure.
