PSY 352D - Psychology of Prejudice

This course explores intergroup relations, prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination by covering topics such as stereotype formation and activation, conceptualizations of prejudice, interpersonal and institutional discrimination, stereotype threat, stigma and identity, individual differences in prejudice, development of prejudice and racial identity, genocide and hate crimes, psychological resiliency, reducing prejudice, and promoting social change. The course explores the impact of the categorization of groups and individuals on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, religion and other constructs.
Prerequisite(s): A 200-level PSY course.
