DPT 617 - Physical Therapy Examination and Intervention II 2 credit(s) This course uses a case study approach to enhance problem solving skills and provide integration of various patient evaluations, goal setting, and intervention outcomes within the scope of physical therapy. Content builds upon information presented in the fall semester in DPT 511 /DPT 512 . Topics covered include positioning and draping, transfers, assisted ambulation, multi-cultural issues, documentation, PT employment settings, the rehabilitation team, and wound care. Students solve problems through analysis of case studies. Exploration of personal and professional ethics, values, and goals enhances the students’ ability to develop competence in these areas. Professionalism, verbal and written communication and ethics are considered throughout. . Prerequisite(s): DPT 511 , DPT 512 . Corequisite(s): DPT 618 .
