MBA 614 - Economic Analysis for Managers

This course covers analytical tools of both micro- and macro-economics, applicable to managerial decision-making problems. The course exposes students to a wide range of business decisions to which economic theory can be fruitfully applied. Specific topics in the micro portion of the course include demand and supply analysis, consumer demand and behavior, theory of cost and production, market structure, and pricing strategies. The macro portion covers basic aspects of national income accounting, the role of money in the economy, the role of the government in the economy, and the global aspects of the economy as they relate to managerial decisions. Finally, the course covers how combining micro- and macro-economic analysis helps managers make effective decisions.
