MED 310 - School Choral Program


3 credit(s)
In this course, students will develop competencies related to choral music education in PK-12 schools. Students will develop an understanding of the voice, discussing anatomy, the phonation process, tone, and voice change throughout the lifespan. Students will discover how to create and implement a sequential curriculum, how to plan and execute an effective choral rehearsal, and what resources are currently available to choral music educators. To encourage transfer of theory to practice, students will participate in a weekly practicum experience teaching at local secondary schools.
Prerequisite(s): MED 307 .
Laboratory fee.
Spring Semester only.
