MED 305 - Conducting Youth Ensembles


2 credit(s)
This course serves as a general introduction to the basic mechanics of conducting ensembles comprised of elementary-and middle school-aged students and includes discussion and practical application of these basic mechanics as tools for efficient rehearsals. Content includes basic patterns for different meters, left and right hand coordination, and changes of rhythm and tempo. There is consideration of basic mechanics in the reading and interpretation of choral and instrumental scores used in the co-requisite MED classes.
Prerequisite(s): TH 211  and TH 221 . Corequisite(s): MED 303  and MED 307 .
