FWS 120 - Foundation 4D Studio II

1.5 credit(s)
A required intensive studio course for art students designed to investigate the use of the camera as a device through which we learn and develop methods of seeing and understanding. This course investigates strategies of “shooting”; documented and fabricated, moving and still, from compositional, sequential, and narrative points of view. Exercises in framing and “capturing” in order to develop greater control of images will be the technical focus of this class. Students will explore camera anatomy, lighting, and shot vocabulary, as well as post-production processes relating to editing, sequencing and design, using digital software.
Prerequisite(s): Open to Hartford Art School students only.
Laboratory fee.
