MED 306 - Conducting Advanced Ensembles

This course serves as an extension of basic mechanics of conducting ensembles to more advanced skills of conducting and rehearsing, particularly of secondary school-aged students and includes discussion and practical application of these advanced skills as tools for efficient rehearsals. Content includes patterns for mixed and multiple meters, use of left and right hands interchangeably, in-depth score study, interpretation, facial and gestural communication, and rehearsal planning. There is consideration of basic and advanced skills in the reading and interpretation of choral and instrumental scores used in the co-requisite MED classes.
Prerequisite(s): MED 305 . Corequisite(s): MED 304  and MED 310 .
